And if you’ve never attended a concert performance of The Spartanburg Philharmonic, you are in for a treat (no tricks, we promise!)

The Magic Of John Williams Is For Families
Baby Yoda.
Harry Potter.
Kylo Ren.
Superman.
John Williams.
What do these people all have in common? Children are fans of them!
They may not know the name of the composer who has had a hand in the score of nearly every iconic film made in the last 70 years, but I assure you they will recognize his work.
The scores of popular films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurrasic Park, Home Alone, and dozens of others have become a part of our culture. So much so that I bet your child can identify the theme from Jaws without ever having seen the 80s thriller. Highly recognizable orchestral music like this is a great way to introduce your family to the Spartanburg Philharmonic.

The Magical Power of A Spartanburg Philharmonic Performance
Studies have shown that attending a live performance of this kind at a young age can help a child become a better communicator, help with motor skills, help brain function, and (wait for it) provide people of all ages with a stronger immune system.
That last part got your attention, right?
It’s true, and it’s been studied numerous times. Listening to music transports us to a relaxing place with its calming effect. The result is a reduction in stress-related hormones and an increase in the immunity-boosting cells in our system. It’s like taking vitamins, only more enjoyable!
Have A Magical Night With The Spartanburg Philharmonic
If you have never been to a performance at the Spartanburg Philharmonic, it’s probably nothing like you expect. The Spartanburg Philharmonic brings in fresh new faces to conduct, chosen for their incredible talent and personality.
The days of dry and serious orchestral performances are gone, and even when the Spartanburg Philharmonic is playing a performance that isn’t themed, it’s still a fun event to attend. The special guest conductor for The Spartanburg Philharmonic’s “Magical” is native New Yorker and Indian American conductor Roger Kalia. His current job titles include being the Director of five different orchestras across the country, and he is passionate about advocating for music education.
