Grand Finale

  • Twichell Auditorium 580 East Main St. Spartanburg, SC 29302 United States (map)

The LAST CHANCE to hear Maestro Sarah Ioannides as Music Director of the SPO!

Bringing her 12 year tenure full circle, the program showcases selections from her first performances here in Spartanburg. From her debut as Music Director of the SPO, Ioannides will again partner with the Converse Chorale, offering Debussy’s hauntingly beautiful "Nocturnes, III. Sirènes." The concert will conclude with the wonderfully popular "Symphony no. 3" by Saint-Saëns featuring Brennan Szafron on the organ. This remarkable masterpiece was the first that Ioannides conducted in Spartanburg.

The program will also feature soloist Rhea Jacobus, principal flute in the SPO, performing Fauré's "Fantaisie for Flute and Orchestra."

Chris Vaneman will host "Classical Conversations" in the auditorium from 6:15-6:45pm - show up early and get the back story to these masterworks!
